My Appreciation of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, Kerry Wagner

I was redeemed and regenerated by the Lord Jesus at age 19. During the past 24 years. I have had the privilege of reading and hearing the ministry of Witness Lee. I can attribute much of my growth in life as well as my understanding of God's Word to the ministry of this dear brother in the Lord.

I can testify that Christ has become so experiential and enjoyable to me for my daily living. Early in the day I set aside at least an hour to pray God's Word into me by the exercise of my spirit (Eph. 6:17-18). This enlivens and strengthens me with the nourishment from the Word to be one with the Lord in a practical way. Throughout the day I call on the Lord's dear name, turning my heart to Him that I would be filled in spirit with all of His riches (Acts 2:21, 2 Cor. 3:16-19).

The practice of exercising my spirit indwelt by the Lord's Spirit has brought me into the experience of Christ as so many items (John 20:22, 1Cor. 6:17). He is my love, my submission, my forgiveness, and even my forbearance toward the members of my family as well as my co-workers. Enjoying Christ in such a way has strengthened my marriage and my relationship with my four children. Without love and forgiveness there is no way for a family to go on together in oneness. Paul, the Apostle, said in his second epistle to the Corinthians that his experience of forgiveness came from the person of Christ. The word person in 2 Cor. 2:10 literally denotes the face - “the part around the eyes; the look as the index of the inward thoughts and feelings, which shows forth and manifests the whole person...” (footnote 3, Recovery Version of the Bible). By looking into the eyes of Jesus, I too have experienced Him as such forgiveness toward others. I have been infused with Christ as my forgiveness, just by looking in His eyes! Then He became the way to go on in my marriage and my family life--by such a real and practical imparting of His humanity and virtues into me. Due to Witness Lee's ministry, Christ has been made so practical and available to me, in my experience day by day. For over 60 years, our brother, Witness Lee, remained faithful to minister only Christ for the building up of the Body of Christ, the church (Eph. 1:22-23). I also aspire to remain as faithful to as my brother in Christ, who has cut the way; and upon his shoulders I am standing.
